This is the best headunit currently available..... : Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD 7-Inch In-Dash Touchscreen Double-Din DVD Multimedia A/V Receiver
I purchased this head unit after doing intensive research. I previously owned a Clarion head unit with built in Bluetooth. I used the Bluetooth often so I needed a head unit with two primary purposes, good Bluetooth call quality and exceptional IPod integration. This unit delivers both without disappointment. I added the GEX-P20HD Radio tuner and the Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter. I also purchased a little adapter on ebay that plugs in the back of the unit which automatically removes the necessity to apply the hand brake in order to watch DVD's. The installation went flawlessly with my microphone mounted nicely in the corner of my 2008 Honda Fit Sport.
The unit powers on quickly and plays songs almost instantly. The Ipod integration is amazingly easy although I find it frustration that there is no "back" button. For example, if you go to ARTISTS: GARTH BROOKS: and then click the song The Dance and then decide you want to play a different Brooks song you have to go all the way back to Artists, find Garth Brooks again and choose a different song. That is only necessary if you are controlling the IPOD through the deck. I always chose to control the IPOD from the Ipod itself. I love LOVE this feature! I can find/navigate songs so easily on my ipod so it makes things very easy. Keep in mind that if you have a 5G (80gb or 120gb) Ipod it will not work with Master Ipod control...you must control it through the stereo deck. My iphone and Itouch work flawlessly with master control and charging the phone.
The Bluetooth easily downloaded all the contacts from my Palm Treo. However, if somebody calls you it will only show you the number on the display, it takes about 3 rings for the name to show up on screen if downloaded from your phone. I wish it was quicker but since my phone is usually in my lap I can just look down and see the name. The call quality is great, callers can never tell I am talking on a bluetooth device. The stereo automatically makes all calls completely FLAT without any bass so sometimes it sounds a little screechy but not bad....much better than my Clarion.
Lastly, the HD Radio tuner is a nice little add on since I do a lot of Fm listening. I'm a little disappointed in the quality though. It searches for a signal like you had XM or Sirius so it can sometimes take awhile for just regular terrestrial radio stations to come in.....and at least in the Dallas area there are a lot of times the signal just goes out or gets scratchy. I don't know if its my unit or what but I wish the quality of this add on was improved with a better antenna or sometime.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this device. The quality of the video is superb! It's so simply to navigate and very customizable in regards to bass etc. If you're looking for a spiffy looking unit with the best Ipod integration on the market...this is the unit for you.

Few cons: About the cd player it WILL NOT PLAY BURNED/COPPIED CDS.
Also it is VERY low power. It says 60watts by 4speakers but its more like 10watts.
Also it dont come with the adapter to fit your antenna plug in to it.
I guess its a good buy for what you pay for it. I give it 4 outa 5 stars.

I drive very seldomly, so I thought a CD player would last a long time. Wrong. After 13 months, this thing pooped out on me. I must have spent $180 in total, including installation, and it's no longer covered by warranty so I'm faced with the prospect of sinking even more money into it.
Quite dissatisfied.

A really excellent product : Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT 7-Inch Flagship In-Dash Navigation A/V Receiver with DVD Playback and Bluetooth
we were recently in los angeles, a city that i do not know very well for a few days house hunting and needed to do a lot of driving using a car with this unit installed. after only half a day, we switched to using a $100 sony hand held with a much better result.
a few observations:
- the poi function is pretty much useless except to locate a bank of america;
- can't locate many common poi's so it comes back with the wrong results;
- no ir capability so no remote...believe me, this unit really needs one;
- need to hold voice button for more than 5 seconds for mute...which is a real pain;
- traffic service only available with msn direct which is now a discontinued service;
- route guidance is just flat out horrible...
- can't find many addresses
- sometimes instructions takes you in circles
- no "previously selected" for choosing city, you need to re-enter city name over and over each and every time
- no introductory statement to begin your route and sometimes there is no voice for quite some time so be prepared for lots of u-turns.
- slow to give guidance instructions, sometimes already passed turn or in wrong lane
- no exit clarification, just "take next" is all you hear
- OK button is located in the very top left corner close to and just above the SCROLL button and the sweet spot is at the bottom of the buttons so it's very easy to hit the wrong one and have to re-enter your entire route all over again. (i have done it many times)
- i won't say the database is old, it finds most 2007 locations and a few 2008 locations but cannot finds some 2005 locations that my iPhone nav easily finds...go figure!
- map does not display the city you are currently in (when house hunting in LA where cities run together and you take down an address, you have no idea which city it's in)
- does not display your current speed or the posted speed limit
- when changing map scale, display changes orientation
- voice commands are limited and do not work well, for example: no commands for cancel route or for home route so you have work you way thru menu layers for them. also when using this units very limited (6 or 7) voice commands, the touch screen feature is disabled so you have to wait for this unit to tell you what your choices are before you can say them.
anyone that rates this unit highly is either selling them or a complete idiot.
i do not recommend this unit, it's pure rubbish!
my very last anything made by pioneer! they made a lot of fixes and instead of making them available to purchasers of this model with an apology, they released the changes in a new model, the z120...??? seems pioneer is more interested in selling new units than satisfying buyers of their old units!
june 10th update...
sold this unit on ebay and the idiot that bought it was so excited about his purchase! ha! replaced it with a kenwood dnx6980, which actually works!
